Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Thursday, negotiated cash trade was light to moderate in the Texas Panhandle and Western Cornbelt. In the Texas Panhandle compared to last week, live purchases traded steady to 1.00 lower at 111.00. In the Western Cornbelt compared to last week, dressed purchases traded mostly steady form 182.00-185.00. Live purchases compared to Wednesday traded mostly steady from 114.00-116.00. Trade was light on light to moderate demand in Nebraska and Kansas. A few purchases were reported at 111.00 in Kansas with a few dressed purchases in Nebraska from 182.00-183.00, however not enough for an adequate market test. On Wednesday in Kansas, live purchases traded at 111.00. On Wednesday in Nebraska, live purchases traded from 113.00-113.50 with dressed purchases from 182.00-182.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales Wednesday saw light trade develop with live sales reported in the mid 140's, sales are fully steady with last week's weighted average price. Dressed bids have been reported from 244.00-245.00 delivered. Bids are steady to 1.00 higher than last week. Seasonally there still is more downside risk to the fed market, based on the five-year average lows historically don't occur until late September/early October.
