Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Thursday, negotiated cash trade has been at a standstill in the Southern Plains. In Nebraska and the Western Cornbelt negotiated cash trading has been inactive on light demand. Not enough trades for a market trend. The last reported market in any feeding region was last week with live purchases in the Southern Plains at 111.00. In Nebraska live purchases traded from 113.00-113.50 with dressed purchases from 182.00-185.00. In the Western Cornbelt last week live purchases traded from 114.00-116.00 with dressed purchases from 182.00-185.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales Wednesday saw light trade develop with dressed sales reported at 246.00 delivered. Sales are fully steady with the previous week. Live sales have also been reported at 145.50 FOB the lot, sales are fully steady with last week's weighted average price. Buying interest has been noted from 2 out of the 3 western Canadian packers this week. Western Canadian fed cattle carcass weights remain larger than last year and the five-year average, but feedlot inventories still remain current.

Select chuck cuts steady while Choice lower. Beef trimmings mostly firm to slightly higher on moderate demand and light to moderate offerings.
