Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA
Alberta direct cattle sales Monday saw no new trade to report. This week’s showlist has been compiled with volumes larger than the previous week. Looking at the most recent weekly live cattle export data. Canadian fed cattle and cow export volumes totaled just over 12,000 head. This is the third largest weekly export volumes seen this year. Feeder cattle exports to the US are a completely different story. Alberta calf and feeder prices are trading par to a slight premium over the US market which has moderated export demand. Weekly feeder export to the US totaled just over 1,000 head, volumes are down 75% compared to last year.
