Texas has been the number one leader of US goat production since before the state was even established. Originally developed from a mix of regional and imported breeds, today this sector has grown to provide over half of all goat meat, milk, and mohair produced in the US. These ranchers raise and develop a wide range of breeds to meet the needs of producers and consumers from across the globe for meat and fiber products.
