OPEN FOR 2024 WILDFIRE & SEVERE WEATHER RELIEF

The STAR Fund (State of Texas Agriculture Relief Fund) was created by the Texas Department of Agriculture to provide relief for Texas farmers and ranchers in times of disaster using monetary donations from private individuals and organizations.

STAR Fund is a reimbursement program designed to assist farmers, ranchers and agribusiness owners in rebuilding fences, restoring operations and paying for other agricultural disaster relief.

If you’d like to help ag producers impacted by the recent 2024 wildfires or other disasters, consider making a donation to the STAR Fund.

COMMISSIONER SID MILLER REAPPOINTS MEMBERS TO THE TEXAS AGRICULTURE FINANCE AUTHORITY BOARD

STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER SID MILLER ON USDA’S NEW RULE ON THE HORSE PROTECTION ACT
Wednesday, January 22, 2025, “Ten agricultural leaders, including the Commissioners, Directors, and Secretaries of the various State Departments of Agriculture, have joined me in writing a letter asking the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to begin the process of formally withdrawing, in its entirety, the Horse Protection Amendments final rule, published in the Federal Register on May 8, 2024. Portions of these amendments are scheduled to become effective on February 1, 2025.
