Texas Sheep

Whether you are looking for exceptional live sheep, wool, or meat, Texas has it all. Texas leads the United States in overall sheep production for both meat and wool breeds. Concentrated in the western plains and arid hill country of central Texas, the Texas sheep inventory is made up of roughly 80% haired meat varieties and 20% wool producing ewes. Though lambs are considered small ruminants, Texas sheep play a giant role in the in providing lamb meat and fiber to the rest of the United States and the world.
