Important information for health facility administrators concerning changes in Medicare contractors -

It is critical that all providers enrolled in Medicare should be aware of this change and the implications for billing and prompt payment from Medicare.  Go to the website links below to see the implementation schedule, the new contractor’s frequently asked questions containing very important information about electronic billing requirements, and sign up for the incoming Medicare contractor’s email listserv to get information concerning the transition.

POLICY UPDATES - FEDERAL

New Resource for Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)
CHNA has launched a new public data web site that contains census data.
CHNA.org is a free web-based platform designed to assist critical access hospitals, nonprofit organizations, state and local health departments, financial institutions, and other organizations seeking to better understand the needs and assets of their communities.  Currently, the site is in testing and being improved through user comments. The entire system will go live in early 2013. See the web site now at http://www.chna.org/.
