Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller kicked off his 2025 Texas Farm Fresh Challenge today. Every October, which is also Farm to School Month, schools and childcare centers join the Challenge to make eating local food and learning about Texas Agriculture fun for children and staff. COMMISSIONER SID MILLER PRAISES CONDITIONAL APPROVAL OF FIRST DRUG TO TREAT SCREWWORM INFESTATIONS IN CATTLE
To stop the New World screwworm quickly, we can’t just depend on sterile fly production. With the latest case popping up only 70 miles from our Texas border, we’re running out of time. It’s time to think outside the box. TEXAS AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER MILLER COMMENTS ON FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN
Our programs at the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) will keep running during this shutdown. All vital efforts, particularly those to deter the New World screwworm and the Cotton Jassid, will continue to be spearheaded by the TDA. Leftist Democrats in Washington would rather spend billions on pet projects, foreign aid, and environmental scam pipe dreams than keep our border secure, support our farmers, and protect working Texans.
