Slaughter Cattle:

As of 3:00 PM Tuesday, negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all feeding regions. The latest established market in any feeding region was last week with live purchases in the Southern Plains at 112.00. Last week in Nebraska, live purchases traded mostly at 115.00 with dressed purchases mostly at 180.00. In the Western Cornbelt last week, live purchases traded mostly from 113.00-114.00 with dressed purchases mostly at 180.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales Monday saw no new trade to report. This week's showlist has been compiled with volumes larger than the previous week. Last week on a cash to cash basis Alberta fed prices were at a 6.00 premium against the Nebraska market. One slaughter plant in Ontario remains idle and has not been operating for over one month. Fed cattle in Eastern Canada are starting to back up. There have been rumblings fed cattle from eastern Canada are being shipped west to Alberta to be slaughtered.

Boxed Beef: 

Boxed beef cutout values higher on Choice and weak on Select on light to moderate demand and offerings. Select and Choice rib, chuck, and round cuts steady to firm. Choice loin cuts firm while Select lower. Beef trimmings sharply higher on good demand and light offerings.
