AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS

Texas Agriculture Code, Chapter 60, authorizes the creation of agricultural development districts. Under Texas Agriculture Code, Chapter 60, no agricultural development districts have been created.
The Southeast Texas Agricultural Development District in Chambers County was created outside the context of Chapter 60 by the legislature.
It is always recommended that inquiries be made to the County Clerk’s Office for any properties in question.

Eligibility is outlined in Subchapter B of the Agricultural Development Districts Statute.

Check with the local County Clerk to determine the existence of an Agricultural Development District.
The process for creating agricultural development districts was enacted in 2001 by the Texas Legislature to promote the development of agricultural facilities that result in employment and economic activity.
