Texas Daily Ag Market News Summary 9/14/15

Texas feeder cattle auctions quoted prices $2 to $5 higher. Feeder cattle futures closed $0.55 lower at $200.15 per hundredweight (cwt). The Texas fed cattle cash trade was active on Friday. Wholesale boxed beef values were lower, with Choice grade closing $0.95 lower at $235.14 per cwt and Select grade closing $1.04 lower at $225.69 per cwt. Fed cattle futures closed $0.88 higher at $141.48 per cwt.

Cotton prices were lower. Cotton cash prices lost 0.50 cents and futures prices lost 0.58 cents to settle at 60.38 cents per pound and 63.51 cents per pound, respectively.

Corn and grain sorghum prices were mostly steady. Corn cash prices gained $0.01, closing at $4.00 per bushel. Corn futures prices gained $0.04 to close at $3.79 per bushel. Grain sorghum prices remained at $6.31 per cwt.

Soybean futures prices closed $0.05 lower, settling at $8.83 per bushel.

Wheat cash prices were steady remaining at $4.01 per bushel, futures prices closed $0.12 higher to settle at $4.71 per bushel.

Stock markets were slightly lower at close on Monday, as investors await a decision from the Federal Reserve on interest rates Crude oil prices closed $0.63 lower at $44.00 per barrel.
