Feeder cattle auctions reported prices $5 to $12 lower; Futures lower.

Fed cattle cash trade inactive; Formula trades higher; Futures higher; Beef prices mixed.

Cotton mixed.

Grains and Soybeans higher.

Milk futures steady.

Crude oil higher; Natural gas higher.

Stock markets higher.

Texas feeder cattle auctions reported prices $5 to $12 lower. Feeder cattle futures were $0.43 lower, closing at $145.57 per hundredweight (cwt). The Texas fed cattle cash trade was inactive today. Whole sale boxed beef values were mixed with choice grade gaining $0.30 to close at $223.57 per cwt and select grade losing $1.74 to close at $205.08 per cwt. Fed cattle futures were $0.15 higher, closing at $118.15 per cwt. Estimated cattle harvest for the week totaled 351,000 head down 4,000 from last week’s total and up 97,000 from last year’s total.

Cotton prices were mixed with cash prices gaining 0.50 cents to close at 59.87 cents per pound and July futures losing 0.12 cents to close at 62.90 cents per pound.

Corn prices were higher with cash prices gaining $0.08 to close at $4.02 per bushel and July corn futures gaining $0.07 to close at $4.05 per bushel. Grain Sorghum cash prices were higher, gaining $0.12 to close at $6.10 per cwt.

Wheat prices were higher with cash and futures prices both gaining $0.04 to close at $3.68 and $4.51 per bushel, respectively

Milk prices were steady with May Class III Milk futures remaining at $12.82 per cwt.

Stock Markets were higher today, as oil prices approach $50 a barrel pushing the financial sector of the S&P 500 to its highest level of the year. Crude oil prices were higher, with June Crude oil futures gaining $0.94 to close at $49.56 per barrel.
