Texas Daily Ag Market News Summary

Feeder cattle auctions steady to higher; futures up.

Formula trades inactive; Beef prices mixed.

Cotton prices up.

Grains and soybeans steady.

Milk futures up.

Crude oil up; Natural gas up.

Stock markets up.

 

Cattle:

Texas feeder cattle auctions reported steady to higher prices. March Feeder cattle futures were up, gaining $1.22 to close at $144.90 per hundredweight (cwt). The Texas fed cattle cash had no reportable trade. April Live cattle futures were up, increasing $1.03 to close at $123.20 per cwt.  

Cotton:

March cotton futures up, closing at 85.41 cents per pound.

Corn and Grain Sorghum:

Corn prices increased, closing at $3.99 per bushel. March corn futures were up, closing at $3.78 per bushel. Grain sorghum cash prices were up, closing at $6.34 per cwt.

 

Wheat:

Wheat prices were up, with cash prices to close at $4.86 per bushel and March wheat futures gaining 2 cents to close at $5.24 per bushel.

Milk:

Milk futures were up to close at $14.14 per cwt.

 

Stock Markets and Crude Oil:

Stock markets were making modest gains, with all the three major indexes showing slight improvement. Crude oil futures were up $1.42 to close at $62.67 per barrel.
