TCR's Weekly Current & Projected Feedyard Closeout

Slaughter Cattle: Thursday negotiated cash trade was light to moderate on moderate demand in Nebraska and the Western Cornbelt. In Nebraska compared to Tuesday, live purchases traded steady to .50 higher from 128.00-128.50. Early dressed purchases compared to last week have traded mostly 1.00 higher at 205.00. In the Western Cornbelt compared to Wednesday, live and dressed purchases traded mostly steady from 128.00-131.00 and from 205.00-207.00 respectively. Traded was limited on light to moderate demand in the Southern Plains and Colorado. The latest established market in the Southern Plains was on Tuesday with live purchases at 127.00. In Colorado last week, live purchases traded from 127.00-128.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta direct cattle sales Wednesday saw no new trade to report. Dressed bids have been reported from 275.00-276.00 delivered. Bids are positioned at the bottom end of last week trading range. No live bids have been reported however using a 60% dressing percentage, dressed bids are working back to the mid 160's on a live basis.

Boxed Beef: Boxed beef cutout values higher on Choice and weak on Select on light to moderate demand and light offerings. Choice rib, chuck, round, and loin cuts steady to firm while Select steady to weak. Beef trimmings mostly firm to slightly higher on moderate demand and offerings.
