Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Wednesday, negotiated cash trade is moderate on moderate demand in Kansas. Compared to Tuesday, live purchases are steady at 124.00. Trading in all other regions was mostly inactive with light demand, however not enough for a market trend. The latest established market in Texas was last week with live purchases from 125.00-126.00. Last week in Nebraska, live purchases traded at 126.00, with a few up to 127.00. Dressed purchases traded at 206.00. In Colorado last week, live purchases traded at 126.00. For the previous week in the Western Cornbelt, live purchases traded from 127.00-129.00 with dressed purchases from 205.00-206.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report:

Alberta direct cattle Monday saw no new trade to report but there is a chance scattered trade could develop by this afternoon. Technical price levels are unchanged from the beginning of the week.  Packers will be pulling hard on April contract cattle. Contract volumes are sounding larger for the first half of April compared to the second half of the month. On the cash market there have been rumblings steady money is being bid.
