Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Monday, negotiated cash trading in Nebraska and the Western Cornbelt has been inactive with very light demand. Not enough trades for a market trend. Thus far for Monday in the Southern Plains negotiated cash trading has been at a standstill. The last reported market was last week in these feeding regions. In the Southern Plains live cash trades moved at 111.00. In Nebraska live cash trades moved from 113.00-113.00 and dressed cash trades ranged from 182.00-185.00. In the Western Cornbelt live and dressed cash trades ranged from 114.00-116.00 and 182.00-185.00, respectively.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales last week saw light trade develop with weighted average steer and heifer prices closing the week at 146.25 and 145.75 respectively. Prices are 2.00 higher than the previous week but 6.00-7.00 lower than the same week last year. Looking at the non-fed market butcher cows traded 1.50 higher through commercial auction facilities last week. Butcher cow slaughter volumes should continue to moderate heading into August.

Boxed beef cutout values steady on light to moderate demand and offerings. Select and Choice rib, chuck, round, and loin cuts steady. Beef trimmings were mostly moderately to sharply lower on light demand and heavy offerings.
