Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Monday, negotiated cash trade has been inactive on light demand in all feeding regions.  The latest established market in any feeding region was last week, with live purchases in the Southern Plains at 112.00. In Nebraska last week, live purchases traded from 114.00-115.00, bulk at 115.00 with dressed purchases from 182.00-185.00, bulk at 183.00. In the Western Cornbelt last week, live purchases traded from 115.00-116.00 with a few up to 118.00. Dressed purchases traded from 182.00-185.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales last week saw light trade develop with weighted average steer and heifer prices closing the week at 146.50 and 145.50 respectively. Prices are fully steady with the previous week. All reported cash sales traded locally. Looking at the non-fed market butcher cows traded 0.75 higher through commercial auction facilities. Butcher cow prices are trading at the highest point since early June. Over the past couple of weeks Alberta cow prices have been trading at a 1-4 premium over the US utility cow market.

Boxed beef cutout values higher on light to moderate demand and offerings. Select and Choice rib and round cuts steady while chuck and loin cuts firm. Beef trimmings mostly steady to firm on moderate demand and light offerings.
