As of 3:00 PM Thursday, negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light to moderate demand in all feeding regions. Not enough purchases in any feeding regions for an adequate market test. On Wednesday in the Southern Plains, live purchases traded at 111.00. In Nebraska on Wednesday, dressed purchases traded from 180.00-185.00, bulk at 185.00. Last week in Nebraska live purchases traded from 114.00-115.00, bulk at 115.00. In the Western Cornbelt on Wednesday, live purchases traded from 115.00-116.00 with dressed purchases mostly at 185.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales Wednesday saw no new trade to report. Dressed bids of 246.00 delivered have been reported. Bids are mostly steady with the previous week. US buying interest has been noted but bids are well off the pace from getting cattle bought. From a seller’s perspective with the softer Canadian dollar and live cattle futures up over 100 points today, sellers are going to be looking for steady to higher money compared to Wednesday.
