Slaughter Cattle:

As of 3:00 PM Tuesday, negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all feeding regions. The latest established market in any feeding region was last week with live purchases in the Southern Plains at 101.00. In the Northern Plains last week, live purchases traded mostly at 102.00 with dressed purchases in Nebraska from 160.00-165.00, bulk at 162.00. In the Western Cornbelt last week, live purchases traded from 100.00-104.00, bulk at 102.00 with dressed purchases from 160.00-165.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

It was a typically quiet day for fed cattle trade on Monday. Showlist volumes are 8% larger than last week. Feedlots are generally current, but will continue to look to move cattle as market ready numbers remain ample. Packers continue to add some Saturday shifts to work through local supplies, while cow slaughter the last few weeks have been below a year ago.

Boxed beef cutout values lower on light demand and moderate offerings. Select and Choice rib and round cuts steady while chuck, round, and loin cuts steady to weak. Beef trimmings sharply lower on moderate demand and heavy offerings.
