Slaughter Cattle:

As of 3:00 PM Monday, negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all feeding regions. The latest established market in any feeding region was last week, with live purchases in the Texas Panhandle from 106.00-107.00. In Kansas last week, live purchases traded at 107.00. In Nebraska last week, live purchases traded from 107.00-109.00 with dressed purchases at 170.00. In Colorado for the previous week live purchases traded at 109.00. For the previous week in the Western Cornbelt, live purchases traded from 107.00-189.00 with dressed purchases at 170.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales last week saw light trade develop with weighted average steer and heifer prices closing over 140.00. Prices are 1.00 higher than the previous week. On a dressed basis Alberta fed prices were at a premium compared to the Ontario market. Looking at the non-fed market butcher cows traded mostly steady through commercial auction facilities last week. Butcher cow prices are trading 1.00 lower compared to last year while fed cattle prices are 9.00-10.00 lower compared to last year.

Boxed beef cutout values lower on light demand and moderate offerings. Select and Choice rib, chuck, and round cuts steady to weak. Choice loin cuts lower while Select steady. Beef trimmings mostly firm to higher on moderate demand and offerings.
