Slaughter Cattle:

As of 3:00 PM Monday, negotiated cash trading has been at a standstill in all major feeding regions. Last week in the Southern Plains live cash trades moved at 110.00. For the prior week in Nebraska and Western Cornbelt live cash trades moved mostly at 110.00 and dressed cash trades moved mostly at 175.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales last week saw light trade develop with weighted average steer and heifer prices closing the week at in the low 140.00's. Marketing pressure was evident as there was some big cattle that had to be marketed.  Looking at the non-fed market butchers cow traded steady to 0.50 higher through commercial auction facilities. Butcher cow and bull prices are trading 5.00-7.00 higher than last year.

Boxed Beef: 

Boxed beef cutout values sharply higher on Choice and higher on Select on good demand and light offerings. Select and Choice rib, chuck, and round cuts steady to firm. Choice loin cuts higher while Select steady. Beef trimmings sharply higher on good demand and moderate offerings.
