Uncork Texas Wines Launches 2026 Texas Vintners Cup: Win “Best in Texas” (5/20/2026)

Texas vintners encouraged to submit entries before June 5th.

AUSTIN – Uncork Texas Wines, a Texas Department of Agriculture program, today announced the 2026 Texas Vintners Cup, the state’s premier wine competition dedicated to crowning the twelve best wines in Texas.

Now in its sixth year, the Vintners Cup remains the only competition of its kind that selects a definitive “Best in Texas” lineup

“Texas wines are world-class and getting better every year,” said Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller. “The Texas Vintners Cup highlights the outstanding craftsmanship of our wineries and gives them the statewide recognition they deserve.”

The Texas Vintners Cup is currently accepting entries for this year’s competition. But hurry, all wine submissions must be received no later than Friday, June 5, 2026, to compete. Winning wines will receive statewide exposure through a prominent 10-page feature in Texas Monthly, accompanied by a robust, comprehensive social media campaign coordinated by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

This year’s judging panel features acclaimed wine journalist Jessica Dupuy and Master Sommeliers Jack Mason and Craig Collins. Their decades of global expertise and top-tier credentials ensure a rigorous, objective evaluation.

In addition to the honor, winning wineries will receive a custom Texas Vintners Cup belt buckle from Commissioner Sid Miller at a special ceremony on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the GO TEXAN Pavilion during the State Fair of Texas in Dallas.

“This competition celebrates more than great wine — it honors the hard work and dedication of Texas vintners,” said Commissioner Miller. “I can’t wait to meet the producers crafting the very best from the Lone Star State.”
