Commissioner Sid Miller To Address National Ag Group Sunday (1/15/2020)

For Immediate Release:
Jan 15, 2020

COMMISSIONER SID MILLER TO ADDRESS NATIONAL AG GROUP ON SUNDAY

President Trump to address American Farm Bureau Federation on same day

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller has been invited to provide the opening welcome to the American Farm Bureau Federation being held in Austin, Texas on Sunday.  President Trump is also scheduled to address the organization later that day.

Commissioner Miller is expected to address the victories made by President Trump on behalf of American farmers and ranchers like the China trade deal and the U.S. Mexico Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA).

In his role as president of the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA) and ag commissioner for one of the nation’s leading agriculture producers, Commissioner Miller has become a national leader on agricultural issues, including international trade and opening foreign markets.

The American Farm Bureau Federation, or Farm Bureau, is the nation’s largest agriculture organization and thousands of ag producers from across the nation are expected to attend the 2020 convention.

Agriculture is a $110 billion industry in Texas and a key economic driver in the state.  Texas leads the nation in several agricultural commodities, including cattle and cotton.  One in seven jobs in the Lone Star State are agriculture related.

For over 100 years, the Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization governed by and representing farm and ranch families united for the purpose of analyzing their problems and formulating action to achieve educational improvement, economic opportunity and social advancement and, thereby, to promote the national well-being. Farm Bureau is local, county, state, national and international in its scope and influence and is non-partisan. Farm Bureau is the voice of agricultural producers at all levels.
