Commissioner Sid Miller Praises FDA Approval of First-of-Its-Kind Topical Treatment to Combat New World Screwworm and Cattle Fever Tick
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today praised the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for granting conditional approval of Exzolt Cattle-CA1, the first topical drug ever approved in the United States to treat and control both New World screwworm and Cattle Fever Tick in cattle. Miller called the decision a landmark achievement for livestock health and a major victory for the nation’s cattle industry.  [More]

Commissioner Sid Miller Praises Trump for $12 Billion Farmer Bridge Assistance Program
With the massive agricultural trade deficit left behind by the Biden Administration, sharply rising input costs, and actions from foreign nations like China leaving key commodities such as soybeans unpurchased or undercut, our farmers have been left to shoulder the burden. Today’s announcement by the Trump administration of a $12 billion bridge payment for America’s farmers delivers real short-term relief. This bridge was built with the revenue brought into America from tariffs.  [More]

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller Backs Trump’s Corporate Price Fixing Investigation
Since 2020, prices for everything have exploded, with little distinction among companies who raise prices due to genuine inflation or engage in price fixing and profiteering. While it is not the role of government to set prices, it is the role of government to protect consumers from fraud and abuse. That's why I am so pleased that President Donald J. Trump is taking additional actions that will benefit American consumers who need help with affordability. Trump’s aggressive investigation into anti-competitive behavior, corporate profiteering, and foreign influence in our food supply chain is welcome.  [More]

Commissioner Sid Miller Praises Trump’s Insistence on Mexico Water Treaty Enforcement
President Trump is exactly right to call out Mexico’s ongoing failure to meet its obligations under the 1944 Water Treaty. Texans have been sounding this alarm for years, and I have been on the front lines of that fight. From championing stronger water conservation practices to pushing for the expedited delivery of every acre-foot owed to the Rio Grande Basin, it’s clear Texas agriculture cannot survive without reliable, treaty-guaranteed water. When Mexico withholds what it owes, our farmers, ranchers, and rural communities suffer.  [More]

As Texas Agriculture Commissioner and steward of the nation’s top USDA Healthy School Meals program, I am proud to help lead the Making America Healthy Again movement.
