STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER SID MILLER BACKING FEDERAL ACTION AGAINST NEW WORLD SCREWWORM THREAT
The New World Screwworm cannot be eliminated with half-hearted efforts. Actual eradication requires the strategic release of millions of sterile flies. I was skeptical of the Biden Administration's approach, but this collaborative effort led by Secretary Brooke Rollins at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), coupled with strong leadership from Texas Congressional members, will expand North American sterile fly production, marking a crucial step forward.  [More]

STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER SID MILLER ON TEXAS LEGISLATURE'S HISTORIC WATER INVESTMENT
This represents the practical, on-the-ground legislation needed to protect our most precious resource—water. STATEMENT FROM TEXAS AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER SID MILLER PRAISING TEXAS SNAP REFORM: NO MORE TAXPAYER-FUNDED JUNK FOOD
We are responsible for seeing taxpayer dollars serve their intended purpose. I want to thank Senator Mayes Middleton and Representative Stan Gerdes for their strong leadership and commitment to doing what’s right for the people of Texas through Senate Bill 379.  [More]

I commend the FBI, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other federal agencies working under the Trump administration for identifying and quickly neutralizing this threat. We must continue to strengthen biosecurity protocols and protect our agricultural research institutions from foreign interference.  [More]

From the heart of the Hill Country to the High Plains, these producers rise before dawn every day of the year, guaranteeing that families across America enjoy safe, nutritious, high-quality dairy products.  [More]
