Commissioner Miller Offers Support to Giddings Residents Following Twister Touchdown (5/19/2015)

AUSTIN – Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller issued the following statement following the reports of a tornado touching down in Giddings, Texas.

“My heart goes out to those who were injured in Giddings when a tornado touched down and ripped through a section of town. Giddings is home to a pair of Texas Department of Agriculture laboratories so this community is close to our hearts. In the Lone Star State, neighbors help neighbors, TDA employees are on standby, ready to pitch in to help rebuild. More dangerous weather is predicted over the next few days, so I urge all Texans to closely monitor the changing weather conditions and have a plan to seek safety when severe weather hits. Preparation is often the key between life and death.”
