COMMISSIONER SID MILLER BACKS SHRIMP LABELING LAW TO PROTECT TEXAS PRODUCERS
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is reminding Texans that Senate Bill 823 is effective as of September 1, 2025. This law introduces new protections for consumers and marks a significant victory for Texas shrimping and aquaculture. It requires informing consumers if the shrimp sold in the state are imported from outside Texas, thereby increasing awareness and supporting the critical Texas shrimp industry.  [More]

COMMISSIONER MILLER PROMOTES RESOURCES TO HELP NEW FARMERS SUCCEED IN TEXAS AGRICULTURE
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is reminding Texans about valuable resources for new farmers. The USDA Farm Service Agency’s (FSA) Direct Farm Ownership Down Payment Loan allows beginning farmers and ranchers to fund up to 45 percent of a farm’s purchase price with just a 5 percent down payment, providing essential support.  [More]
