STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER SID MILLER BACKING TRUMP’S LIBERATION DAY ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW TARIFFS
President Trump doesn’t often hold back—and yesterday was no exception. The world is quickly realizing that in his second term, you either strike a fair deal or face the consequences. These tariffs mark a bold step toward ensuring that American farmers, ranchers, and producers are no longer subjected to unfair trade practices. The goal is clear: to reverse decades of one-sided agreements and secure fair, equitable deals for all U.S. industries—not just agriculture. Our president has proven yet again that he keeps his promises.  [More]

STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER SID MILLER CALLING FOR THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR TO END ABUSE OF THE FEDERAL ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT
The Endangered Species Act—once a vital tool for genuine conservation—was twisted into a weapon against rural America by the Biden Administration and their radical 30x30 land grab agenda. Time and again, I’ve fought back against their reckless misuse of this law—whether it was the listing of the Lesser Prairie Chicken, the proposed expansion of the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge, or the current proposed listing of the Monarch Butterfly. These heavy-handed decisions blatantly disregarded the successful, voluntary conservation efforts led by Texas landowners, ranchers, and energy producers. Instead of supporting these initiatives, the federal government chose to punish them, strangling rural economies, overburdening agricultural producers, and sidelining crucial land needed for energy development, all while achieving little to improve outcomes for the species in question.  [More]

STATEMENT BY COMMISSIONER SID MILLER PRAISING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S FIRM ACTION ON THE 1944 WATER TREATY
“I want to thank President Trump for his firm, no-nonsense leadership in addressing the water crisis affecting our southern border. Mexico has failed to uphold its obligations under the 1944 Water Treaty for far too long, leaving Texas farmers and ranchers high and dry—literally. In response to President Trump’s demands, President Claudia Sheinbaum has finally stated that Mexico will make an immediate water delivery to Texas farmers.   [More]
