You must be registered with TDA before you can receive payment of any kind for:

• Placing a device into service; 
• Removing an out-of-order tag; or 
• Performing inspections of LPG meters or hopper scales.

TDA may issue a registration to each person who submits an application and subsequently passes a written examination for each class of license desired.

All Service Technicians must be employed by a Licensed Service Company. To apply to be a Service Technician, email your completed RWM-708 application to WeightsMeasures@TexasAgriculture.gov. Once the application is processed, an eligibility letter will be mailed to you with instructions to register for your exams with PSI. Once TDA receives a passing exam, the license will be issued. A license is valid for 5 years and at that time the Service Technician will be required to re-test with PSI. To request re-testing please email WeightsMeasures@TexasAgriculture.gov.
