Commissioner Miller Urges Texas Grain Producers to Verify Hansen-Mueller Grain Deliveries and Payments
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) are alerting farmers and companies across Texas who have delivered grain to Hansen-Mueller within the past 90 days to immediately verify their delivery and payment status. TDA has received reports from Texas grain producers and companies that they are still owed significant compensation after recent grain deliveries or deposits with Hansen-Mueller.  [More]

Commissioner Sid Miller Applauds Senate Vote to End Shutdown, Urges House to Act Immediately for Farmers and Ranchers
“The Senate has finally done its part. They voted to move forward on reopening the government, restoring funding, and getting aid back on track for agriculture and rural America. But we’re not done yet. The House needs to follow suit and soon,” Commissioner Miller said. “From our family farms in Texas to our ranches that feed the nation, further delay means lost income, stalled production, and frustrated producers. This Schumer shutdown must not keep rural America waiting any longer.”  [More]

Commissioner Sid Miller Backs President Trump’s Request for DOJ Investigation into Major Meatpacking Companies
I fully support President Trump’s call for a federal investigation into the long-suspected unethical practices of the four major meatpacking companies operating in the United States. I have long advocated for this as well and have previously publicly requested that President Trump and the U.S. Department of Justice conduct a criminal investigation into price fixing by the nation’s largest meat packers. Two of these companies are not even American-owned; they are based in Brazil, and they are making billions while our ranchers and consumers are getting the short end of the stick.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Statement on President Trump’s Soybean Trade Deal with China
This deal is a massive win for America’s farmers and ranchers. China has agreed to purchase 25 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans annually, which means Texas soybean growers and producers across the country can rest easier knowing their product will find a strong and stable market. I would like to thank President Trump for supporting American farmers in these negotiations and ensuring a more prosperous future for agriculture by striking these deals and standing firm.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Statement on Keeping Commitment to Texas Kids
At the Texas Department of Agriculture, our mission to serve the children of Texas never stops. I want to assure parents, teachers, and school nutrition teams across our state that Texas school meal programs will continue to operate without interruption despite this damaging Schumer government shutdown.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Statement on FDA Emergency Use Authorization for NWS Treatment in Dogs
This is exactly the kind of no-nonsense leadership Texans can count on. I’m proud to see the FDA, under the steady hand of Commissioner Makary and the leadership of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., making history by issuing the first-ever Emergency Use Authorization for an animal drug.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Outlines Beef Policy that Works for American Consumers and Producers
The plan released yesterday by the USDA is a good start, and I am grateful that President Trump and USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins are willing to hear the feedback being provided by America’s cattle producers. However, as the Agriculture Commissioner of our nation’s largest beef-producing state and a rancher myself, I believe there are some additional steps that can be taken. I hope the Trump administration considers adding the following suggestions to their plan to more effectively reduce the price of beef and better support cattle producers and consumers across our country.   [More]

Commissioner Miller Praises Governor Abbott for Cleaning Up Austin
I applaud Governor Abbott’s bold and decisive action to clean up Austin. Too often the people of Texas are asked to tolerate unacceptable conditions like illegal encampments, weapons, needles, debris, and fires, right where families live, work and travel. By directing state agencies to step in and restore safety and cleanliness around our capital, the Governor is sending a clear message: Texas will not stand by while law and order are ignored and our citizens are put in danger.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Praises Trump, Rollins for Prioritizing American Beef Production
I welcome USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins’ statement today following my call to prioritize America’s beef production. I also thank President Trump for swiftly considering these commonsense solutions to lower beef prices while putting America’s ranchers first.  [More]
