AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER SID MILLER HONORS TEXAS FARM AND RANCH FAMILIES AT 46th ANNUAL FAMILY LAND HERITAGE CEREMONY
AUSTIN –In a celebration of agriculture and family heritage, Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) honored 57 farms and ranches spanning 47 Texas counties at the 46th Annual Family Land Heritage (FLH) ceremony at the State Capitol on November 3, 2021. The ceremony, held in the historic House Chamber, recognizes Texas families who have kept their farms and ranches in continuous agricultural production for 100 years or more.  [More]

COMMISSIONER MILLER KICKS OFF 2021 NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK CELEBRATIONS
AUSTIN- Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today announced schools across Texas will celebrate National School Lunch Week Oct. 11-15. The annual event drives participation in the National School Lunch Program, which is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and provides 3 million lunches every school day. TDA is promoting the balanced, nutrient-rich meals served by Texas school nutrition professionals with its 2021 theme, Feed Your Creativity with a Healthy School Lunch.  [More]

COMMISSIONER MILLER KICKS OFF FARM FRESH CHALLENGE FOR SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAMS IN TEXAS
AUSTIN- Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today announced the start of the 2021 Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) October Farm Fresh Challenge. Schools across Texas will celebrate Texas agriculture throughout the month. COMMISSIONER MILLER ANNOUNCES GLOBAL MARKET ASSESSMENTS TO BENEFIT TEXAS AGRICULTURE COMMODITIES
AUSTIN- Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) has partnered with the Center for North American Studies (CNAS) at Texas A&M AgriLife Research to provide global market assessments for more than a dozen Texas agricultural commodities. AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER SID MILLER NAMES THIS YEAR’S HEALTH AMBASSADORS FOR A READY TEXAS
AUSTIN- Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today announced his selections for the 2021-2022 class of Health Ambassadors for a Ready Texas (HART). These high school leaders will collaborate with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and their school nutrition teams to champion local foods and Texas agriculture using resources such as TDA’s Farm Fresh Initiative. TDA STAFF RECOGNIZED FOR EXCEPTIONAL WORK
AUSTIN- Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced TDA’s Region 1 Field Staff members Kyle Thompson, Joe Finley and Brandon Hubbard were recently honored at the 25th annual Texans Caring for Texans state recognition ceremony held at West Texas A&M University. Thompson, Finley and Hubbard received an award for going above and beyond the call of duty when delivering PPE and medical supplies to Texas hospitals last year during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.  [More]

The U.S. Senate’s recent passage of the massive $1 trillion infrastructure package does not prioritize the livelihoods of American farmers and ranchers. The impact of this legislative stink bomb threatens our economy, our way of life and our personal liberties.
