Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced new reports of unsolicited seed packages arriving across Texas from Chinese vendors. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is working swiftly to safely collect these packages and ensure they are delivered to the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) for inspection. One Texan reported ordering a dog toy from the Chinese vendor TEMU, only to receive a package of seeds instead. COMMISSIONER SID MILLER REPORTS THE USE OF TEXAS RETURN ADDRESS ON ADDITIONAL UNSOLICITED SEED PACKAGES
Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller reported that the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) was alerted to a case in Frisco, Texas, where a resident’s address was fraudulently used as the return address on boxes containing several unidentified seed packages. The sender reportedly used Stamps.com to disguise the packages’ source, resulting in recipients sending the unwanted packages back to the return address and the Frisco resident being inundated with returned boxes they did not pack or ship.  [More]

A fundamental American value is the freedom of choice. This is why I call on Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Legislature to prioritize a statewide ban on non-water additives, such as fluoride, in our public water. I commend President Donald J. Trump for his decisive action in addressing the catastrophic mishandling of the bird flu outbreak by the Biden administration, which has devastated our nation’s poultry industry and driven up costs for American consumers. According to the USDA, bird flu-related depopulation has resulted in the loss of over 150 million birds since 2022, including more than 123 million laying hens. As a result, egg prices soared under Biden, climbing from $1.60 per dozen in February 2021 to a staggering $4.10 by December 2024. Now reaching a record high of $4.95 per dozen, American consumers are bearing the burden of the failed Biden response to this crisis.  [More]

I commend USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins for her steadfast commitment to advocating for a federal solution to the purchase of rural land by our nation’s foreign enemies, including Communist China. This has been a crisis I have long fought against, and not just in Texas. Americans want our farm and ranch land to be owned by Americans, not foreigners, especially those affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Not only are these land purchases damaging to agriculture producers, but much of the land purchased by China is located near our military bases.
