Commissioner Miller Praises Governor Abbott for Cleaning Up Austin
I applaud Governor Abbott’s bold and decisive action to clean up Austin. Too often the people of Texas are asked to tolerate unacceptable conditions like illegal encampments, weapons, needles, debris, and fires, right where families live, work and travel. By directing state agencies to step in and restore safety and cleanliness around our capital, the Governor is sending a clear message: Texas will not stand by while law and order are ignored and our citizens are put in danger.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Praises Trump, Rollins for Prioritizing American Beef Production
I welcome USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins’ statement today following my call to prioritize America’s beef production. I also thank President Trump for swiftly considering these commonsense solutions to lower beef prices while putting America’s ranchers first.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Statement on Importation of Argentinian Beef
Instead of offshoring our beef production by buying Argentinian beef, which would increase our already substantial $50 billion agricultural trade deficit, we should consider importing breeding stock to increase our own U.S. beef production capacity. Other opportunities to consider include opening federal lands to grazing and offering tax incentives to increase U.S. beef production. That would encourage more breeding stock and increased herds.  [More]

Commissioner Sid Miller Announces Renewal of Pesticide Exemption to Protect Texas Rice from Invasive Pest
Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) today announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted their request for an extension of the quarantine exemption, authorizing the continued use of Endigo® ZCX. The extension is effective immediately and will expedite the treatment of up to 170,000 acres of rice across 19 Texas counties to combat the rapidly spreading rice delphacid.  [More]
