MORE RADIOACTIVE IMPORTED SHRIMP RECALLED, COMMISSIONER MILLER ENCOURAGES AMERICANS TO STICK WITH WILD-CAUGHT TEXAS SHRIMP
Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Imported shrimp sold in 31 states has been recalled over radioactive contamination concerns, and that’s flat-out unacceptable. Americans deserve safe, clean food, not imports handled under shady, unsanitary conditions. This is exactly why folks ought to only buy wild-caught Texas shrimp, where quality, freshness, and safety are second to none.  [More]

COMMISSIONER SID MILLER REAFFIRMS TEXAS’ AGGRESSIVE RESPONSE TO SCREWWORM DETECTION NEAR BORDER
Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller made it clear that the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is not waiting on the sidelines when it comes to protecting Texas livestock from the New World screwworm (NWS). The agency is taking immediate and aggressive action to use pesticide bait to prevent the pest from re-establishing itself in Texas. While TDA has already been proactive in guarding against NWS, Commissioner Miller is now intensifying those measures following confirmation by Mexico’s SENASICA of a new case in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo León—less than 70 miles from the U.S.–Mexico border.  [More]

OPINION: ACTION OVER EXCUSES: COMMISSIONER MILLER DEFENDS TEXAS RANCHERS AGAINST ENERGY GIANT
Friday, September 19, 2025, As Commissioner, I have a constitutional and ethical obligation to serve the interests of Texas producers and consumers. Close to a million acres of this state have been damaged by these fires. Every acre lost isn’t just a rancher’s concern – it's a consumer’s issue too. When pastures burn, it drives up feed costs, beef prices, and grocery bills. Texans are already feeling the impact of rising food prices. If we don't address this crisis, it will only make things worse. Families who don't own a ranch will still feel the pinch at the checkout line.  [More]
