Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller Sounds Alarm: Surge in Unsolicited 'Mystery Seeds' Hits Texas
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) today warned Texans of a sharp spike in unsolicited packages delivering unidentified seeds. As of January 15, 2026, TDA has already collected 126 packets this year alone, with reports surging dramatically since the agency's January 5 alert.  [More]

Commissioner Miller Calls Upon State and Federal Legislators to Protect Vital Farm and Ranchland from Data Center Expansion
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today unveiled a bold plan to protect the nation’s prime farm and ranchland from the rapid spread of data centers. His proposal centers on creating federal or state-designated Agriculture Freedom Zones, or AFZs, which would use targeted tax incentives to guide data center development into appropriate areas. The goal is to safeguard vital food production while still supporting growth in technology and innovation.  [More]

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller Fully Supports President Trump Ordering Direct Military Strikes Against Terrorist Drug Cartels in Mexico
Last year, I cheered President Trump's gutsy, game-changing move to brand Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. That stroke finally armed America to hit these criminal empires like the terrorists they are. Today, I stand 100% behind President Trump in any decision to unleash U.S. military power against these cartels in Mexico — on land or sea — to crush their reign of terror once and for all.  [More]

Commissioner Sid Miller Statement on Texas Fluoride Settlement
I commend Attorney General Ken Paxton for standing up for Texas parents and putting children’s health first. AG Paxton and I agree — when parents are teaching their kids something as basic as brushing their teeth, they should be able to trust that the information on the package is honest, accurate, and responsible. Instead, toothpaste packaging consistently depicts excessive amounts of toothpaste, contradicting the fine print on the back of the box that reads “a pea-sized amount.” Due to the documented health risks, misleading images that encourage excessive fluoride use have no place in products made for children.  [More]

Commissioner Sid Miller Sounds Urgent Alarm: Additional Screwworm Case Detected Just 215 Miles from Texas Border
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today issued a stark warning to livestock producers in Texas and nationwide after Mexican authorities confirmed an additional New World screwworm (NWS) case in a seven-year-old bovine in González, Tamaulipas—only 215 miles south of the Texas border. The infected animal had no reported history of movement outside of Tamaulipas and represents the third active case in the state.  [More]
