OPEN FOR 2024 WILDFIRE & SEVERE WEATHER RELIEF

The STAR Fund (State of Texas Agriculture Relief Fund) was created by the Texas Department of Agriculture to provide relief for Texas farmers and ranchers in times of disaster using monetary donations from private individuals and organizations.

STAR Fund is a reimbursement program designed to assist farmers, ranchers and agribusiness owners in rebuilding fences, restoring operations and paying for other agricultural disaster relief.

If you’d like to help ag producers impacted by the recent 2024 wildfires or other disasters, consider making a donation to the STAR Fund.

Tuesday, October 30, 2018, AUSTIN - In a celebration of agriculture and family heritage, Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) honored 70 farms and ranches spanning 53 Texas counties at the 43rd Annual Family Land Heritage (FLH) ceremony at the State Capitol today. Commissioner Miller Kicks Off Annual Farm Fresh Challenge For Texas Schools
Monday, October 1, 2018, AUSTIN – Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today announced the start of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s (TDA) annual Farm Fresh Challenge for Texas schools. Formerly known as the Local Products Challenge, the event runs throughout October and recognizes school nutrition teams that serve more local products in meals while teaching children about foods grown and raised in Texas. This year TDA added social media as a challenge goal by encouraging schools to share their successes online.
