COMMISSIONER MILLER KICKS OFF CELEBRATIONS FOR NATIONAL CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM WEEK
Today, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller invited Texans to join him in celebrating National Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Week, March 16-22. National CACFP Week recognizes sponsors partnering with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) to serve healthy meals and snacks at roughly 12,500 sites across Texas.  Eligible Texans can enjoy nutritious free or reduced-price CACFP meals and snacks at participating adult daycare centers, childcare centers, home-based daycares, and afterschool programs.  [More]

I recognize that the USDA’s budget cuts are intended to eliminate fraud, abuse, and waste. However, even well-functioning programs that deliver real results are undergoing reviews to ensure fairness. These changes also provide an opportunity for states to assume greater responsibility in shaping their own programs. COMMISSIONER SID MILLER ANNOUNCES STRONG START TO PESTICIDE COLLECTION EVENTS IN 2025
Today, Commissioner Sid Miller proudly announced that the Dawson County pesticide waste removal event, hosted by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Lamesa, Texas, collected an estimated 179,619 pounds of unwanted pesticides. These free public events provide agricultural producers across the state with a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted pesticides and recycle pesticide containers.  [More]
