STATEMENT FROM TEXAS AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER SID MILLER SUPPORTING U.S. REP. JODEY ARRINGTON’S EFFORTS TO EXPAND RURAL HEALTHCARE ACCESS
Monday, March 10, 2025, As Texas Agriculture Commissioner, I also oversee the Texas State Office of Rural Health (SORH).  Access to quality healthcare is not a luxury—it’s a necessity, especially for the hardworking men and women in our rural communities who put food on our tables and keep America running. I support United States Representative Jodey Arrington and his fight to ensure rural Texans have the necessary healthcare resources.  [More]

STATEMENT FROM COMMISSIONER SID MILLER APPLAUDING PRESIDENT TRUMP’S DELAY OF TARIFFS ON KEY AGRICULTURE COMMODITIES
Friday, March 7, 2025, I applaud President Trump’s decision to delay tariffs on Mexican and Canadian agricultural commodities and products included in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). This decision will provide more time for open negotiation with both countries and, most importantly, provide short-term relief and time for our agricultural producers. I also fully support President Trump’s initiative to leverage tariffs to restore fair and equitable trade agreements that benefit Americans. His ongoing tariff strategy will strengthen domestic production, attract new investments, spur job growth, and ultimately reduce costs for American consumers. While there will be a short-term adjustment period—undoubtedly challenging for farmers already facing hardships—our agricultural industry will emerge stronger and more resilient than ever.  [More]

Wednesday, March 5, 2025, "I joined Vice President JD Vance in Eagle Pass, Texas, along with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, as the highest-ranking members of President Trump’s administration to visit the southern border. This visit reinforces the White House’s new “whole of government” approach to securing our nation.  [More]

STATEMENT BY TEXAS AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER SID MILLER ON PRESIDENT TRUMP’S JOINT ADDRESS OF CONGRESS
Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Last night, President Donald Trump delivered a powerful address to Congress and the American people, highlighting the transformative achievements of his administration. In just seven weeks, he has cut through unnecessary, leftist-driven government bureaucracy and secured billions in savings. His ongoing tariffs are set to strengthen domestic production, attract new investments, drive job growth, and ultimately lower prices for American consumers.  [More]
