STATEMENT FROM COMMISSIONER SID MILLER PRAISING SECRETARY BROOKE ROLLINS FOR USDA’S LIVESTOCK IMPORTS REOPENING PLAN
Monday, June 30, 2025, "I would like to thank President Trump, USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, and their team at the USDA for their smart, data-driven decision to reopen U.S. ports to cattle, bison, and equines from Mexico. Agricultural producers and our rural economies depend on this cross-border commerce, and reopening our ports with strong, science-based protocols in place is the right decision. The USDA’s approach balances strong animal health safeguards with the urgent need to get our livestock trade moving again. Hats off to Secretary Rollins for getting this done for our ranchers across the nation."  [More]

STATEMENT FROM TEXAS AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER SID MILLER ON THE SUPREME COURT’S RULING LIMITING USE OF NATIONWIDE INJUNCTIONS
Friday, June 27, 2025, Today’s Supreme Court decision is a victory for common sense and the rule of law. For too long, partisan judges, particularly those with a far-left agenda, have wielded universal injunctions as a political weapon to unilaterally halt lawful executive actions they personally disagreed with. This ruling rightly reins in that abuse and restores the right to make policy to the elected branches of government. Activist Federal judges in lower courts should not have the unchecked authority to impose sweeping, nationwide rulings that go far beyond the parties involved in a given case.  [More]

STATEMENT FROM TEXAS AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER SID MILLER ON NEW USDA PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS
Friday, June 27, 2025, Once again, President Trump and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins hit it out of the park with this latest round of appointments to bolster the leadership at the USDA. Each of these selections continues a deep commitment to agriculture and rural communities that is unparalleled. I am also excited to see that several appointees have ties to Texas and the State's agriculture sector. The Texas Department of Agriculture and I are excited to collaborate with the new members of Secretary Rollins’ team to ensure that Texas and America’s farmers and ranchers are championed and supported at every level.  [More]

The measure will ban the sale of cell-cultured protein products for human consumption across the Lone Star State for two years.  [More]
